Burning devotion: the art and craft of Chinese paper offerings

Chinese believers burn paper replicas as offerings so that deceased kin and wandering spirits do not become “hungry ghosts”. But this folk tradition is fading away. Burning Devotion is a photographic window into the world of paper offerings and their artisans. I researched for this book and wrote the essay and captions. (Book)
